Job Description


The Internet Marketing Technology (IMT) department partners with Internet Marketing and other departments to deliver innovative technology solutions focused on marketing programs and marketing tools. Additionally, IMT provides consulting expertise to guide overall prioritization and drive scheduling of marketing technology initiatives and maintains the overall project portfolio and content elements for applications, along with other consumer facing applications at Allstate.
Our Web Analytics team provides Allstate with enterprise-wide web metrics and analytics support for Allstate internet (and some intranet) web sites.

As a Technical Web Analytics Analyst, you will be responsible for designs, documents, reviews, and maintaining components of digital analytics solutions for intermediate complex projects. 
This includes web traffic tracking, data capture, processing all data for analysis using measurement models, and helping to develop new web measurement reports and models. 


Some Programming experience including familiarity with web related technology such as ASP.NET, AJAX, JavaScript, Web services, SOAP and HTML, experience in iOS & Android platform a plus.  The Technical Web Analyst will work closely with other members of a global development team across the enterprise, such as developers, analysts or end user, to ensure the performance, availability, and stability of the designed applications.


Role includes analysis, use of existing internet measurement tools and operational tasks.  A business understanding of Allstate internet and intranet sites.  Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Elicit business requirements to identify appropriate measurements to meet business requirements
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Work with project teams to define measurement plans, implement the necessary tags, perform testing, and develop reports
  • Maintain and enhance the current reports
  • Perform project-related and ad-hoc (Data) analysis – including deep-dive analysis
  • Make recommendations for web site improvements based on measurement results
  • Help business partners to access and understand our data and measurements
  • Facilitating and contributing to the development of a company-wide web measurement strategy
  • Assisting users in accessing and interpreting their data and providing reports that support their business needs 
  • Provide preliminary in-house product support, escalating queries to vendors as needed
  • Establish communication programs to reach users and developing and maintaining user training and materials
  • Ensure data accuracy and resolve any data integrity issues
  • Communicate data collection issues or report disruptions to business partners
  • Keep Up-To-Date on the Latest Web Analytic’s Best Practices and Products


Job Qualifications


College Degree: Preferred

Major Preference: Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics


Experience required

  • Web analytics experience preferred with Adobe Analytics. Google Analytics a plus.
  • Exposure to marketing tools such as Adobe Target, Adobe Audience Manager, Observe Point and Decibel Insight preferred.
  • Experience utilizing tools to track, measure and report websites
  • Demonstrated support of business clients with Web Analytics
  • Skilled at interacting directly with clients from problem definition through implementation with a demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between the business and consulting tasks
  • Web marketing and online web systems development and deployment
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and how to apply
  • Ability to work well with others on diverse projects in a collaborative team environment and across time zones
  • Excellent (written and oral) communication and problem solving skills
  • Able to work independently and implement solutions in a timely manner with high quality
  • Able to meet deadlines and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Technical proficiency
  • Software Development: Working knowledge and hands-on software design and development experience in JavaScript. iOS & Android a plus
  • Experience with ASP.NET, AJAX, JavaScript, Web services, and HTML
  • Knowledge of SQL, Soap, Web Services, Windows Service, Windows Forms
  • Strong aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues, engineering systems, and services and developing creative solutions to technical and customer challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts in simple terms
  • Able to learn new domains and concepts quickly
  • Must be able to read and understand technical documents, with good communication skills on email and phone conferences

  • Business Analysis — Capable of converting discrete data and basic business concepts and turn them into meaningful information which contributes to successful assignments completion.
  • Change Management — Fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate change management processes in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Facilitation — Basic proficiency to facilitate meetings and processes where the subject is moderately complex.
