Job Description

Compliance Governance leads compliance initiatives that have substantial impact on the company’s compliance and operational risk objectives.  This includes ensuring a variety of areas of responsibility (AORs) are in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, Do Not Solicit, FACTA, Advertising Compliance, internal controls, monitoring (internal and third party vendors); and that such behavior meets the Company Code of Ethics.


Assist with coordinating, performing and directing activities related to advertising compliance, record retention and customer contact governance. Assist with providing advertising compliance and record retention guidance, recommendations.  Also contribute with the implementation of related process improvements that help to ensure compliance with Allstate’s Corporate Policies.  


Key Responsibilities


  • Support in the execution of the centralized advertising compliance process.  This includes assisting with the preparation of monthly Marketing Advertising Scorecard and with the development of consistent advertising compliance processes.  Also participate in the monitoring and reporting of compliance results on a monthly basis. 
  • Support the Contact Strategy Governance Team by processing new customer contact requests, communicating requests to the working team, performing requested follow-ups, publishing minutes, notifying requestors of submission status and running kick-off meetings for approved campaigns.
  • Market Conduct Exams, Discovery requests, Litigation Holds, other misc. requests:  Work with attorneys and key constituents, to coordinate the retrieval of records and analysis of information that will address requests.  Deliver materials and reports efficiently and effectively and within the specified timeframe.  Communicate status and issues effectively and in a timely manner. 
  • Annual Re-verification Process:  Responsible for assisting with the execution of the Marketing team re-verification process (e.g. proper system access).  This includes communication and follow up to ensure process is completed on time.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the compliance and record retention manuals, processes and forms for Allstate Life and Retirement and Protection sales literature and advertising documents.   Review, report and assist with making recommendations to Advertising Compliance processes and procedures.  Participate in the review processes and practices for adherence to established guidelines and participate in the development of additional guidelines and processes as needed.


  • Advertising Compliance Education and Training:  Assist in providing education and communication on AdTrax and the compliance and record retention processes to the Marketing Team.  Provide new hire orientation and training to ensure that the account managers and Ad Trax users have a solid understanding of the requirements involved for creating or revising advertising materials. Become the company SME for this topic.
  • Records Management:  Marketing SME on enterprise record retention policy. 

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business (or related field) is preferred.
  •  Excellent organization, analytical, time management skills; and ability to work with detailed information.
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Computer Skills (EXCEL, PowerPoint, Word)  
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to communicate complex information in a way that others can understand.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Advanced problem solving skills and ability to recommend actions
  • Expanded knowledge of insurance industry and the outside marketplace
  • 3-5 years marketing/business experience
