Job Description

Allstate Insurance has a wonderful opportunity for a Claims Data and Analytics Lead Consultant in Northbrook, IL.

This role will be responsible for using appropriate technical skills/business knowledge to complete assignments that support Claims’ business goals in alignment with the Enterprise Data Strategy.  The Claims Data & Analytics Lead Consultant will design, develop, and manage Claims Data & Analytics projects in the following areas: Analytics Research & Development, Model Governance, Data Governance & Quality, influencing Enterprise Master Data Management and the Enterprise Analytics Ecosystem to support Claims initiatives.

  • Manages one of the following Claims Data & Analytics work streams:
    • Leading Analytics Research and Development and POC efforts in support of advancing Claims Strategic Initiatives (Analytics Research & Development)
    • Improving modeling governance, data governance and quality increasing the reliability of our data (Model Governance and Data Governance & Quality)
    • Influencing the creation of a single, trusted source for key Claims business data that can be shared across the Enterprise (Master Data Management)
    • Influencing the Enterprise strategy for enabling the right data to conduct analysis, inform decisions and deliver results (Analytic Ecosystem)
  • Responsibilities within these work streams include:
    • Manages integrated, multi-track projects and/or programs in developing high quality deliverables, performance expectations, risk mitigation, and process development – often in a iterative agile phased approach
    • Tracks performance, establishes project controls and communicates risks & status
    • Translates technical concepts to business implications/capabilities to for project requirements and discussion purposes
    • Provides feedback to program resources (budget, staffing, etc.) contributing to program execution
    • Contributes to functional strategy and defines success criteria for Claims-wide Analytical initiatives
    • Contributes to the common vision and helps drive communication throughout Claims to elevate the organizations’ commitment to clean, reliable, and accurate data
    • Develops communication plans/strategies and materials to support programs or processes

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree/MBA in Business, Finance (or related field) or relevant experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a data and/or analytic related function
  • Ability to work with broad parameters in complex situations
  • Advanced understanding of enterprise business units
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Good organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to manage and coach others
  • Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong decision making capabilities including problem solving approaches, decision frameworks; ability to design and lead complex analysis
  • Great ability to persuasively advocate a position and build momentum for change and action
  • Advanced ability to manage multiple priorities given aggressive timelines; comfortable performing in a fast paced, dynamic and ambiguous business environment; manage both internal and external resources
  • Ability to inspire trust and influence management
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
