Job Description

The Agency of the Future Director is responsible for supporting the development of strategy and driving necessary changes in the organization for key business initiatives.  Help design and direct projects that analyze strategic alternatives in depth so that opportunities, short and long term financial implications, risks and opportunities are well understood.  Work across multiple functions and businesses to identify issues and assess financial and organizational impact.  Make recommendations and drive organizational alignment and decision making.  Review existing strategies to ensure alignment with overall Distribution strategy.  Provide insights and perspective on key project components that will impact current and future strategies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead portfolio of initiatives for Agency of the Future including strategy, data gathering, analyses, and communication that provide actionable recommendations; develop presentations that articulate findings and recommendations as well as facilitate executive decision making and alignment for internal and external stakeholders
  • Recommend, enroll and gain executive alignment on the approach for and process of developing and refining strategies for the Agency of the Future portfolio
  • Develop and communicate portfolio progress and integration in key priorities to senior leadership to gain alignment
  • Lead Agency of the Future group direction, capabilities, staffing, and integration with other functional groups
  • Develop team members by defining and prioritizing problem solving and consultative skills and capabilities, providing on-the-job development opportunities and managing succession through internal and external recruiting
  • Collaborate with AORs / BU’s across the enterprise to influence and contribute to the company’s strategic objectives and support AOR / BU goals.
  • Effectively manage x-functional teams to monitor delivery - resources/expenses/financial plans/ benefits, etc.
  • Lead and inspire work units/teams through performance reviews, coaching, succession planning, budgets and development plans
  • Achieve results through high performance environment, identifying success criteria/metrics, communicating results to all stakeholders and managing course corrections and innovation
  • Proactively develop future talent

Job Qualifications

  • Successful track record in development and delivery of Strategy and translate business objectives into action plans
  • Advanced knowledge and application of professional standards, methods and concepts: relevant related disciplines, functional strategy
  • Successful track record of organization and complex project/program management skills and systemic-thinking
  • Successful track record of relationship management and leadership skills, and organizational savvy
  • Successful track record in the ability to influence others, structuring and presenting documents to effectively communicate with and inspire trust of cross-functional partners and mid to seniot level management, driving alignment and decision making
  • Successful track record in strategic and analytical skills, providing critical thinking and solving complex problems;
  • Proven ability to develop /revise business tactics to support changing business objectives and direction
  • Advanced financial acumen - ability to measure, evaluate and act on financial and operational results
  • Proven experience providing strong people and thought leadership, and the ability to effectively mentor, coach and develop others
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Suite
  • 15 years+ Insurance industry / Portfolio Management / Strategy Development / Delivery Execution
  • MBA preferred
