Data, Discovery, and Decision Science (D3)

D3 is the research and analytics organization at Allstate. We are solving some of today’s most complicated analytics problems, making the lives of our Allstate colleagues easier and more productive, and driving our mission to deliver perfect insurance solutions to our customers. The Team

At Allstate we focus our data science on creating personalized value for our customers through data driven decisions instead of cloistered research. At scale this requires a comprehensive platform to get cutting edge machine learning into day-to-day business operations. The Analytics Engineering team builds products for the deployment of analytics across the entire enterprise, including predictive models and randomized experiments.

 

 

The Role

As a Product Owner in the Analytics Engineering team, you will be responsible for successfully developing a product in our machine learning deployment suite. You’ll champion the product to the business and work hard to understand their diverse needs. You’ll prioritize features, manage expectations, and deliver results consistently and in concert with other product development efforts. Your impact doesn’t just stop at your product; you will influence how we do data science at Allstate.

 

Your day-to-day looks like:

  • Leading execution of Agile product development for a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, and analytics consultants
  • Story mapping, managing the product backlog, writing acceptance criteria, and being available for consistent guidance for the development team
  • Pushing for hypothesis driven development with measurable impact to users
  • Communicating value of product and accomplishments to department leadership to enable prioritization decisions
