Job Description

The Allstate Life and Retirement Customer Strategy department is responsible for driving customer centricity by meeting commitments of stewardship and value creating for its customers, shareholders, distribution partners and employees. This also includes leadership and guidance concerning Allstate Life and Retirement’s overall customer strategy.

 

The Customer Market & Research Strategy Manager leads and implements plans that will support ALR business objective of becoming an indispensable part of the Allstate customer value proposition including determining stakeholder needs and driving the initiatives necessary to meet those needs. Leads complex key initiatives including consumer and producer research, competitive and situational analyses, and test-and-learn programs while representing the voice of stakeholder across the organization helping to improve the consumer buying experience and achieve business objectives.  

 

 

Key Initiatives:

  • Consults with product management, sales and internal/external organizations to develop and lead implementation of research agenda, operations test-and-learn scenarios, competitive analysis and benchmarking.
  • Independently maintains competitive database including assessing subscriptions and memberships to industry organizations and other third parties who can provide critical data and managing related budget.
  • Proactively provides critical data and analysis to key stakeholders with industry standard recommendations and stakeholder benefits.
  • Manages research projects including establishing the objectives, hypothesis and sharing results enabling stakeholders to make decisions and prioritize projects based on customer needs and preferences.
  • Manages the producer advisory networks to provide real-time feedback on producer practices to help facilitate fact-based decision making
  • Manages activities that drive cultural shift to customer centricity.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert to others

 

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of financial services industry with special emphasis on life insurance and annuities
  • Strong business acumen and experience to connect customer wants and needs with business practices and processes
  • Customer, producer and key stakeholder advocate with the ability to relate to and provide voice of the stakeholder to the organization
  • Collaborate across the organization
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working in an environment that is diverse from a business and cultural perspective;
  • Proven ability to make decisions and drive results in a dynamic, evolving and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Ability to manage a budget including tracking and measurement of the effectiveness of programs
  • Ability to work with complete independence
  • 6+ years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
