Job Description

Innovation & Partnership Solutions supports Allstate Innovation’s engagement of third party partners, maximizes strategic value from the organization’s strategic and vendor partners and provides visibility throughout the organization – in addition to maximizing value, obtaining market insight for our vendors, strengthening relationships, monitoring risks, and controlling the total cost of ownership.

 

The Innovation & Partnership Solutions Analyst understands trends in the market and aides in selecting vendors, negotiating contracts, establishes vendor relationships including comparing performance to industry benchmarking. This person will provide thought leadership into vendor portfolio optimization and vendor management governance as needed. The Innovation & Partnership Solutions Analyst will evaluate if we have the right vendors and identify opportunities for targeted optimization and conduct reviews on a rotating schedule. They will also lead capability building activities to assess current state and identify capability gaps.

 

Responsibilities:

Market Insight

  • Conduct vendor search
  • Obtain economic analysis from Sourcing & Procurement Solutions (SPS) and evaluate
  • Facilitate/ participate in the coordination of data collection
  • Develop and execute communication plan for learnings
  • Responsible for developing and providing build vs buy recommendations based on analysis.  Owns build vs buy governing authority and decision making process
  • Responsible for leading the process to identify alternatives / succession and make recommendations
  • Attends industry conferences and communicates learnings

 

Roadmap/Product Planning

  • Accountable to provide oversight, tools, templates, and governance
  • Develop the process to do the capability assessment to determine what capabilities are being leveraged or could be leveraged; Partner with the business to complete the assessment
  • Establish processes to enhance the contract process for the innovation are and types of agreements that may be needed for these types of disruptive innovation efforts.
  • Use business strategy to develop thematic strategic vendor roadmap for Investments, expectations and standards

 

Vendor Optimization

  • Partner with the business (internal) to maximize product use
  • Recommend project initiatives when needed to facilitate adoption of use

 

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Maintain vendor portfolio management (e.g., second tier vendors)
  • Define role for high touch/low touch vendors

 

Invoicing/Expense Management

  • Provides visibility into overall spend by vendor category reported to project operating committee

 

Vendor Evaluation

  • Develop and maintain common vendor scorecard or leverage SPS assessment forms

 

Vendor Portfolio Optimization

  • Identify opportunities for targeted optimization; conduct reviews on a rotating schedule (2 functions a year)

 

Governance

  • Develop workflow practices
