Job Description

Bookkeeper/General Ledger -Accounting Specialist Associate position open at Allstate in our Irving, Texas location.  Tentative Start Date: 12/18/17.   Work Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, may require some rotational partial Saturdays.  Benefits effective first day of employment!

Under some direction, processes company financial data transactions from areas within Allstate to ensure compliant and accurate processing.  Investigates and understands compliance requirements for applicable processes.  Completes processes and tasks of a moderate to complex nature while developing expertise and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of Bookkeeping/General Ledger or Reconciler experience. One Recon, SAP, Debits and Credits, high level of Excel knowledge.
Reconciles Accounts - balances complex general ledger accounts and reconciles outstanding items with little supervision.  Researches and communicates with internal and external customers to resolve issues. 
Processes invoices and payments - Researches and investigates invoice processing exceptions.  Research, investigate and process payment data to generate payments for employees for employees and suppliers. 
Maintains and updates data - Investigates and communicates with internal and external customers to resolve issues and to obtain tax information.  Understands, communicates and resolves various exception types to generate payments.
Provides customer services - Inputs detailed information into multiple systems and understand the critical nature of the data.  Understands multiple processes to be able to respond to customer inquiries and resolve payment issues.
Manages workflow - completes a wide range of responsibilities and processes with minimal supervision or guidance.  Anticipates upcoming workflow changes and coordinates accordingly.  Adapts to changing workflow demands.  Is the Subject Matter Expert.  Assists in implementation of new projects and processes within work unit.  Coordinates, collaborates with other work areas.

Demonstrates effective communication skills.  As well as demonstrates the ability to problem solve, multi-task and navigate through various systems to complete a reconciliation.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements: 

Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of Bookkeeping/General Ledger or Reconciler experience.

General Ledger accounting experience of 5 plus years is preferred.

One Recon, SAP, Debits and Credits 

High level of Excel knowledge

Education - High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. 

Flexible work schedule, possible Saturday rotation and holiday(s).
