ATSV Risk Management
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a risk practitioner to join our team.  This position will play a key role in development and support of risk management throughout the Allstate Technology and Strategic Ventures organization. 

Success in this role requires initiative coupled with an ability to execute quickly and to the highest standards.  Individuals who are motivated by interaction with senior management and application of strong risk management process, principles, and analytics will be ideally suited to the role.  A good eye for detail coupled with responsive and positive attitude is essential.

The Risk Technician works with other risk management professionals and leaders, as well as technology and business teams to ensure risk management process and practice is appropriately delivered and imbedded in the organization.

Job Description

This includes:
• Maintaining the Technology and Strategic Ventures organization top level risk register and analyzing lower level risk registers to determine which risks should be escalated
• Provide training and mentoring to risk practitioners across the Technology and Strategic Ventures organization
• Build key relationships with the various departments and work in partnership to identify  and develop  solutions to address key risk areas
• Forge effective engagement with key stakeholders on risk management, control, and governance matters
• Drive and monitor risk mitigation initiatives across the Technology and Strategic Ventures organization
• Coordinate efforts to promote risk management culture with the Technology and Strategic Ventures organization
• Develop analytic and visual presentation strategies to ensure risk data is conveyed in meaningful and interpretive formats for all audience levels
• Develop risk causal models to treat the causes of risk, not just the symptoms
• Supports risk decision making through the use of predictive modeling
• Conduct risk assessments on a wide variety of key processes and decisions
• Identify and develop key metrics to focus on what matters most to the organization
• Provide guidance in establishing risk tolerance levels
• Drive culture shift toward self-analysis & evidence-based decisions

Exposure to risk committees and risk reporting processes, risk assessments, risk analysis and metrics, and policy and procedure definition are a part of the hands-on experience.


Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:
• At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management for an IT Department in a medium to large sized enterprise.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IT process improvement methods to aid decision making and improve final results.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Technology, Mathematics, or related subject.
• An advanced level of proficiency in MS office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel (Pivot tables, use of formulas and functions, macros and reporting), and Visio (process documentation).
• Demonstrable experience in enabling risk management capability in a complex environment.
• Strong writing, presentation, and communications skills to build rapport and trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate information from a variety of sources, including exposure to Tableau or similar analytical visual representation tools
• Experience with stochastic and predictive modeling tools and techniques.
• Strong planning and organizing skills to manage short, medium and long term activities and deliverables.
• Experience of managing challenging behaviors and resistance to change using initiative to work through issues and barriers to success.
• Experience carrying out business and technology risk assessments.
• A working understanding of risk frameworks.
• Experience working pro-actively and autonomously.
• The ability to look at situations objectively and challenge assumptions.
• The ability to work efficiently and accurately in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• A strong attention to detail.
