Job Description

Allstate’s growing User Experience and Design Group is looking for Senior Visual Designers, with responsive web and mobile experience, who want to do innovative, award-winning work in a flexible, fun, caring environment where they are treated with respect. Does working with other smart, creative people in a low-drama atmosphere sound intriguing?


The Senior Visual Designer will be developing interfaces for various responsive web and mobile platforms. You can expect to work closely with lead designers and take on responsibilities that push you to learn and grow your skills. Passion for user experience and interface design is important.


Can you?

  • Create pixel perfect UI elements: illustrations, icons, photos an d meticulous production of high-fidelity visual design comps
  • Create and manage visual design documentation and specifications
  • Collaborate closely with development to make sure designs are implemented as intended
  • Create visual design deliverables under the guidance of lead designer
  • Support design consistency and quality across multiple digital channels device platforms and screen resolutions
  • Maintain relevancy in the field by monitoring digital trends, new tools and workflows, attending workshops, and joining professional groups
  • Brainstorm big ideas in a group setting and express your opinion
  • Understand and interpret brand, user, and business needs, in order to develop innovative, creative, and results-oriented digital solutions
  • Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-caliber visual communication, web, mobile design and production skills.
  • 2-5 years of mobile/visual design experience in a collaborative environment
  • Bachelor's degree in visual or graphics design, BA in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in Sketch, Zeplin, cloud-based prototyping tools like InVision and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience designing responsive websites as well as generating assets varying resolutions, screen sizes, and pixel densities for both for iOS and Android
  • An understanding of native mobile apps and responsive web  patterns.
  • Proven ability to work within brand guidelines to create compelling visual solutions
  • Education or experience in user-centered design techniques
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Information Architecture to translate
  • Wireframes into works of art
  • Understanding of capabilities and limitations of front end technologies, including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript (you will not be expected to code)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must be highly motivated, positive and a passionate team player

Bonus Skills

  • UX or Human Factors training
  • Illustration capabilities
  • 3D Modeling and animation
  • Working knowledge of VR and AI
  • Front-end coding skills (CSS, HTML, JavaScript)
