Job Description

The Product Operations’ Project Management team is accountable for improved business results by providing enhanced decision-making support and execution excellence. Individuals in this job family work closely with quantitative analysts, underwriting and coverage consultants, as well as business sponsors, field contacts and other SME’s to deliver projects on time, within budget and with quality.

 

The Project Management Associate Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of Project Managers and is accountable for the planning and oversight of projects of varying complexity.  This individual is aligned to a specific business unit and is responsible for managing that relationship. This individual also develops solutions to moderate to highly complex business problems and business unit issues.

 

People Management –

  • Front-line leader position responsible for Product Operation Project Management work performed by their direct reports
  • Assesses Project Management resource needs including skills and training requirements with a proactive view of work in the pipeline
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and developing Project Managers; establishes comprehensive development plans and job profiles
  • Considered a subject matter expert in one or more product disciplines including project management or compliance

 

Project Management -

  • Plans, implements, manages, and/or contributes on Product Operations priorities using accepted project management standards
  • Forecasts short-term and long-term project management deliverables through work with regional partners and portfolio managers
  • Formulates strategies to achieve plan objectives for special programs that require additional or new implementation plans
  • Creates cost benefit analyses
  • Communicates and presents project information as needed to inform and escalate to leadership
  • Ensures project controls are in place throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure quality in a high volume environment
  • Determines the integration and delivery of planned changes/ projects/products to regions/ field
  • Ensures processes are followed and applied consistently throughout team/department
  • Adheres to and monitors internal and external compliance & regulatory requirements/standards
  • Understands and articulates market specific implications of business strategies
  • Leverages understanding of current industry and professional standards/environment to impact decisions and advance the maturity of the department in terms of execution excellence

 

Process Improvement/Innovation -

  • Supports and/or leads the development/design of new plans, programs, processes, products of moderate to high complexity
  • Develops communication strategies and materials to support new plans, programs, processes, products
  • Solicits and incorporates input from key stakeholders as necessary

  

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience; insurance and/or project management knowledge and experience in P&C industry is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of project management practices
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Works effectively in a team environment
  • Prefer experience managing a team of multiple employees
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
  • Strong presentation skills
  • High level organizational skills in order to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner
  • Advanced working knowledge of policies and procedures in management or other technical fields including funding, prioritization, change management, product governance
  • Strong data analysis and data review skills
  • Able to identify and resolve complex data issues
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
