Job Description

 
Allstate is looking for software engineers to be a member of an Agile XP development team in building digital products to support the Agency Relationship Platform. 
You will develop code all day, every day, on a full stack cloud platform leveraging test-driven development and continuous integration/delivery. 
You will work in a highly structured, paired programming environment to enable learning and maximize productivity.

Job Qualifications

 

  • A college degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar field, including a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of computer science concepts, object oriented design principles
  • Knowledge of developer software in different programming languages and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages
  • Knowledge and experience on approaches and tools for automated testing and monitoring
  • Software development in an Agile environment with an understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) 
  • Strong Understanding of (HTML5, CSS3, Less…) developing responsive designed applications (mobile first mentality)
  • Strong understanding of responsive web front end / single page application development using modular JavaScript
  • Understanding and experience in modern JavaScript tools (Webpack, Babel, ESLint, Gulp, NPM, Bower, Browserify, Grunt)
  • Understanding of Spring Boot Frameworks
  • Understanding of Cloud computing (Cloud Foundry, Azure or AWS)
  • Strong understanding of continuous integration and deployment (Jenkins, Concourse CI and/or Gradle)
  • Understanding of Source Control Management (preferably Git/GitHub)
  • Understanding of developing/consuming Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON), ETL jobs and APIs (Service-oriented architectures)
  • Experience in designing applications-in many iterations, you will not receive a full spec and will need to feel comfortable thinking things through, filling in the blanks and iterating across sprints as we receive feedback from customer interactions.
  • Understanding of Internet of Things
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
