The Role

Be a part of the team working to change the insurance industry.  With 9 of the top 10 insurance companies leveraging telematics programs in the market, the use of telematics data is becoming table stakes.  However, the opportunity for insights derived from this telematics data is endless.  

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for contributing towards defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of one or more products in Arity’s growing Insurance Product portfolio. The Associate Product Manager assists with establishing strategic product vision, product discovery, roadmaps, and backlog to maximize the customer and enterprise value provided by their product.  Successful Product Managers help to identify assumptions and validate those assumptions through the use of product discovery techniques.  The Associate Product Manager is responsible for working closely with key stakeholders and partners, ensuring the successful definition and execution of go-to market and communications strategies for their products.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, drive and execute the strategy for a new product in our growing Insurance Solutions product portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with data science team members to discover and refine new valuable insights.
  • Engage in discovery/test & learn activities to quickly validate assumptions and product direction.
  • Use customer feedback, detailed market analysis, and data to provide recommendations on decisions about product strategy.
  • Understand our customer; invest significant time with current and potential customers to understand their needs and habits.
  • Provide input on decomposing complex problems into smaller manageable tasks by creating and prioritizing a backlog for the Product Team.
  • Use metrics to measure the success of your efforts and to inform the overall product strategy.
  • Manage product roadmap prioritization partnering closely with data science for a core Insurance Product that supports our larger Insurance Solutions strategy
  • Continuously develop and release new iterations and features to customers

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience

  • 3-5 years relevant product management working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working for or with insurance companies, especially focused on underwriting, pricing and data science principles
  • Passion for finding innovative solutions for common insurance company pain points
  • Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action
  • Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs where you had the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals
  • Ability to contribute towards data-driven decision making on complex and innovative concepts
  • Ability to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in mathematics, computer science, economics or related business degree
