Job Description

 

The Allstate Roadside Services (ARS) is looking for an experienced API Engineer to play the role of a Lead Developer/Tech Lead on the team.The API Solution Engineer-Lead Consultant undertakes high complexity projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.  The API Solution Engineer-Lead Consultant coordinates with architecture, engineering and application teams on complex projects to determine requirements and ensure system enhancements are successfully implemented and monitored. The API Solution Engineer-Lead Consultant has broad infrastructure knowledge and deep API, RESTful knowledge including extensive work with API management platforms such as Apigee, ,Layer 7, MuleSoft etc.

Job Description

Create, own and maintain the Allstate Roadside Service (ARS) API Ecosystem including the ARS RESTful API suite, developer portal and API management platform such as Apigee Edge, Layer7, MuleSoft etc..

 

Develop a strong working relationship with the API developer community to gain trust and credibility through his/her deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise around the ARS API Ecosystem

 

Participate in regular partner standup meetings as developer advocate to ensure partners are consuming API correctly while providing technical support to developers

 

Demonstrate internally and externally the power of the ARS API suite by supporting and leading demos and proof of concepts leveraging the API.

 

Lead Hackathons and API engagement events at industry conferences and universities.

 

Provide technical and professional leadership and coaching to more junior level Engineers.

 

Job Qualifications

 

 

Education:

 

College Degree with technical study or equivalent experience

 

Required Job Qualifications

 

4-5 years technical hands on experience in RESTful API design, API management, deployment, architecture and support

 

3-4 years technical hands on experience with API related technologies such as XML, JSON, JavaScript, Python, PHP or similar; applicable technology certifications

 

Excellent knowledge of API gateways such as Apigee Edge as well as API protocols/proxies, API management

API onboarding skills using an API management platforms

 

Hands-on familiarity with middleware, web services technologies, and security standards (oAuth, SAML)

Design and Development Experience in any of the integration/ESB technologies such as, TIBCO, Mulesoft, etc.

 

Design or Development experience in building SOA platform services (RESTful mandatory, SOAP) and API solutions.


Understanding of and experience working in an Agile environments
