Job Description:

The Field Operations team leads the 14 Corporate Relations teams in regions across the country. Our role is to support the successful execution of Allstate Brand Distribution initiatives through effective communications, to enable field Corporate Relations teams to provide best-in-class communications for the regions, and to support the overall Corporate Relations goals of building strong brand reputation, increasing confidence in our business strategy, and influencing our culture. We do this by integrating across functions including Marketing, Agency Operations, Claims, Customer Experience, and Product Operations; being a source of timely and accurate information to the field teams; playing key leadership roles on project implementation teams; creating strategic communications plans; and crafting clear and impactful communications for the East and West Territory teams.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Take ownership of special project – Manage “Bright Spots” success story campaign and posting to agency intranet site.
  • Lead outreach, writing and layout for weekly newsletter for PR professionals around the country.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics (conference calls and in-person meetings) for PR managers across the country.
  • Build and maintain relationships with CR cross-functional teams and colleagues in other departments.
  • PR consulting – Partner on consulting with Allstate insurance agency owners to encourage volunteering in their communities.
  • Assist in creating internal and external communications that are aligned with corporate priorities and messaging. 
  • PR campaign integration – Partner with national Media Relations team on rolling out PR campaigns like Reality Rides and Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report.

Job Qualifications

Candidates should have a deep interest and general understanding of communications, public relations and/or journalism, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to assume responsibility, prioritize their work, and think creatively. In addition the ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to assist in the execution and planning of communication strategies.
  • Ability to develop a basic tactical plan with focus on timeline and audience needs, along with capacity to process detailed information quickly and synthesize into communication tactics that resonate with and engage stakeholders
  • Experience using social media tools in a school or corporate environment, specifically creating a social media campaigns preferred
  • Knowledge of public relations trends and best practices preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and independently
  • Previous academic, extracurricular and/or work experience related to public relations is strongly preferred  
  • Completion of newswriting and PR/Marketing courses preferred
  • Adept with technology
  • Graphic design skills are a plus

 

Education:

We prefer candidates who are upper-level undergraduate students majoring in Public Relations, Journalism, English, Strategic Communications or Communications with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
