Job Description

We are seeking a highly-motivated college student with a concentration in Communications, Journalism, English or Public Relations and an interest in corporate communications. The Communication Intern will support the Communications and Change Management team within Agency Operations. This department is responsible for delivering national programs to the field sales organization and agencies. This role will be primarily responsible for developing, writing and executing communication strategy to benefit local Allstate agency owners. The intern will gain valuable skills in the fields of public relations, corporate communications and the insurance industry.

 

Responsibilities

  • Write internal communications, including creation and distribution of internal newsletters
  • Support communication plans for national high-impact programs
  • Participate in the development/design of new plans, programs or processes that are of moderate-high complexity
  • Develop presentations, infographics, formal communications, Intranet articles and other written communications
  • Communicate and present project information to project team
  • Provide presentation/updates to senior level management
  • Publish content to agency Intranet site

Job Qualifications

  • Current sophomore-level or junior-level college student
  • Course work or experience in Marketing, Journalism, English and/or Communications
  • Candidate should be detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and project management skills required
