Job Description

The Sr. Manager Regional Field Marketing role is a high profile, high impact position that represents all of marketing for the region on the Market Operating Committee (MOC).  Led by the Regional SVP, the MOC runs each region like a mini-Allstate (and by mini we mean $1B+).  As a member of this committee, you'll be working with other senior functional leaders (sales, operations, finance, HR) to drive the results of your region.

Your ultimate partnership in this role is with the Allstate Exclusive Agencies.  You and the regional marketing team will support the agencies to grow their business and improve customer loyalty through strategic local marketing planning strategies and programs.  Allstate is changing the way we attract and retain our customers through a Trusted Advisor model, and your team will be an integral part of supporting our agents’ success in creating this change.  Through this partnership you’ll strengthen Allstate’s purpose to help people realize their hopes and dreams through products and services designed to protect them from life's uncertainties and prepare them for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic marketing expertise within the regional Market Operating Committee.  You’re the voice for all of marketing on the MOC.  In turn, you’ll be expected to have a strong business acumen and understand the interactions marketing has with other areas.
  • Develop, execute and manage regional marketing plans and related strategies and tactics for maximum returns from high level strategies such as Trusted Advisor to individual agent advertising.
  • Proactively communicate across multiple functional areas (corporate and regional) to ensure alignment of strategies.  The need-to-know Allstaters should always be in the loop on your activities, challenges and successes.
  • Managerial leadership of a marketing team of 1-5 people.  Team success = your success!  Great work in the field can be a launching pad for other career areas within Allstate for you and your team.
  • Manage the marketing budget.
  • Shared accountability of regional performance with the MOC.
  • Up to 50% travel.

Challenges within the first 12 months:

  • Learning the corporate and regional organization, culture and processes.
  • Establishing credibility with and earning the trust of the MOC as well as the corporate marketing management team, to whom this executive will have a high level of visibility.
  • Improving financial results for the region.
  • Effectively developing and mentoring the team to build broad and deep bench strength in the function.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of increasing levels of responsibility in marketing or other relevant field as well as:

  • Successful track record developing and executing marketing initiatives and driving measured results.
  • Driving exceptional customer experience and fostering innovation to create an atmosphere that supports new ideas and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability influencing across functional areas regionally and within corporate functions.
  • Established builder and developer of relationships with various levels of leadership including executive.
  • Accomplished people leader in attracting, developing and retaining top talent.
  • Industry experience in a financial services organization a strong plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required in marketing, communications, business or related field.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
