Claims Learning & Development team provides strategic education to the claims business, including field staff, home office staff, and other stakeholders. The team is responsible for the execution in the analysis, design, development, implementation, measurement, and coordination of high impact learning solutions.


Job Summary

This job is responsible for assessing highly complex and highly technical training needs and contributing to training strategies, curriculum development, and assessing curriculum effectiveness to create a world class learning. The individual is responsible for designing and developing multi-media content to help deliver products to reinforce claims learning and development training. The individual partners with Field staff, Home Office staff and key stakeholders to identify training needs and provides subject matter expertise on adult learning and content delivery to influence planning for e-learning, virtual delivery channels and videos.

The role oversees the design/development/maintenance of video and graphic design work to ensure that proper compliance to Allstate Brand Guidelines is followed. The individual also delivers compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention. The individual works independently, prioritizes the individual's own responsibilities, and manages the individual's own workload.

Key Responsibilities


Training and Education

  • Engagement & Influence: Team collaboration, relationship management, communicaiton
  • Consultation & Problem Solving: Performance analysis, performace support, assessment & evaluation
  • Generates innovative solutions to address client / company issues, presents solutions clearly, enhances existing ideas to maximize opportunities for clients, and supports a creative, innovative environment.
  • Maintains inventory of complex or advanced-level training programs and formal training received by personnel
  • Evaluates current complex or advanced-level training programs; designs complex or advanced-level training programs, and contributes to training strategies and provides improvement recommendations
  • Applies adult learning principles to design training materials, communications, and other media for Claim employees
  • Develops and implement advanced-level training content or other deliverables
  • Partners with Field and Home Office leaders to understand process changes and updates; develops and implements training content or other deliverables
  • Reviews and approves training material developed by others; provides feedback and guidance on overall content
  • Develops and documents standards for applying adult learning principles to design training materials, communications, and other media for Claim employees
  • Delivers presentations effectively and with confidence at the team level

Subject Matter Expert

  • Perform preventive maintenance and/or proactive troubleshooting on all Multimedia equipment including but not limited to: video and/or audio gear, processing and monitoring equipment, fiber optics transmitters/receivers, and video editing computers.
  • Keep software versions up to date. Assure software license compliance.
  • Collaborate with ATSV and TL&E to better the quality and enterprise-wide user experience of various content delivery platforms (TalentConnection, AllstateTV, and Knowledge Management)
  • Participates in TL&E design meetings as a subject matter expert on training content and electronic management of content materials
  • Provides support to users of various content delivery platforms.
  • Collaborates with business field partners on process content changes

Customer Service

  • Makes and maintains a connection with the internal/external customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
  • Manages, researches, and resolves complex and occasionally highly complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
  • Reviews customer satisfaction results; develops and directs business unit action plans

Project Management

  • Manages the design of new course material for training workshops to support the goals and objectives of the business
  • Determines scope, duration, and time required to complete project work
  • May participate in complex or occasionally highly complex special assignments
  • May serve as a committee team lead for large projects or as a committee team member on very large projects
  • Collaborates with other AOR’s as SME to deliver training material and cirriculum.
  • Develops work plans to organize project into tasks, sequences activities to achieve maximum efficiency, estimates and manages time and budget required to complete tasks. Identifies issues and takes action to adjust the plan while remaining committed to project deadlines and timelines.


Job Qualifications


Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree obtained preferably in education technology-related area
  • Prior experience in Learning & Development and/or adult learning is preferred
  • Prior experience with various learning technology and authoring tools to include but not limited to: Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Prezi, PowerPoint, OneNote, Blackboard, and video production software is preferred
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, OneNote, Publisher and Excel
  • Proven track record in achieving multimedia/production results; production demo reel may be required.
  • Knowledge and experience with multimedia editing software (Avid, Sorenson, and most software found in the Adobe Creative Cloud- Premier, Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects and Illustrator) a plus.
  • Proficiency in pre-show planning that’s required for live video productions.
  • Proficiency with digital assets and storage.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Experiencing in planning and implementing successful website redesign.

  • Works within highly complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth in area of expertise
