Job Description

Resources are responsible for the continued strategy, implementation and execution of the Heartland expansion tactics. They determine the best way for the business unit to drive necessary changes in the organization to achieve key business initiatives and objectives. This function must identify the business unit’s needs, leverage benchmark data, construct and manage operational plans to meet these goals.

 

Working with the leadership team, this position contributes to the development and implementation of Heartland organizational strategies, policies and practices.  The Lead Consultant role is instrumental in the development and implementation of strategies to achieve business unit and corporate goals. Partners across the company to develop and lead new initiatives to fully leverage the integrated distribution system driving forward Heartland deliverables. Lead new initiatives to expand Allstate's opportunity to grow in the Heartland. Creates partnerships to identify future needs or changes to large scale or complex end-to-end processes. The job requires strong business and operational knowledge.

 

Business Building

  • Problem solves effectively as liaison to Technology and to all AORs
  • Possess an operating level of knowledge of Allstate products, discounts, markets and competition in various markets within all the states and regions.
  • Working knowledge of Allstate processes performed by other areas and how they interact,
  • Keen at issue recognition and the alternative application of departmental initiatives to emerging opportunities,
  • Leads critical and complex program execution. Leads and/or consults on business unit or organization –wide planning and implementation efforts

Strategic Thinking

  • Acts as steward for the Heartland program developing "best practices" pertinent to Heartland deliverables
  • Provides solutions on complex projects, programs, and processes, acts as primary contact for validation of business requirements through project lifecycle;
  • Sets strategic and operational parameters for collaborative efforts/teams with and across functional boundaries
  • Presents business cases and influences others to take recommended actions
  • Achieves results on initiatives that contribute to growth and profit goals

Fosters Improvements

  • Anticipates needs of the business units and leads efforts for continuous improvements
  • Develops, operationalizes, and implements ideas that have long term broad organizational impacts
  • Communicates in challenging and complex situations. Presents complicated information with efficiency
  • Contributes to market share growth and profitability by managing projects and contributing towards Heartland initiatives and providing expertise in respective discipline(s)
  • Assists with creating process and concept designs; Partners with Heartland leadership to develop measurements for success, KPIs, communication strategies and build materials to support new plans, programs or processes

Project Management

  • Plans and coordinates the integration and delivery of planned changes/projects/ programs to regions/field; Solves market specific implications of business strategies
  • Plans, implements, manages, and/or contributes on projects that are up to moderate complexity and are small to moderately scaled using accepted project management standards
  • Helps manage development of the business case and acceptance of the plan for single or multi-phase, complex projects that span multiple teams of areas.

Job Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Exposure to agency sales process
  • Agency development experience
  • Effective presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong skills in project management, team building, and problem solving
  • Strong communications skills
  • Influencing
  • Problem Solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (ability to create presentations and create/manipulate spreadsheets)
  • General understanding and knowledge of learning design, instructional methods and training techniques
  • Intermediate knowledge of sales processes, policies, and procedures or other business/technical fields
  • Insurance experience, business ownership or management backgrounds a plus
  • Leverages understanding of current industry standards/environment to impact decisions and indicate requirements
