Job Description

Strategy and Operations Associate Manager is someone who can support Agency Operations in becoming a more agile organization.  A solutions-focused leader and resourceful problem solver who quickly adapts to changing environments – essential skills for us to continue building a world-class distribution organization.

  • Support Agency Operations delivery and execute high priority initiatives
  • Improve coordination within the department and how we connect to Allstate Brand Distribution strategy
  • Maintain effectiveness through strong problem-solving, intrapersonal and communication skills

 

  • Help Agency Operations with the execution of high priority initiatives and sound Strategic Thinking
    • Drive project execution of select, directly owned initiatives
    • Demonstrate project management fundamentals (e.g. business cases, structured work plans, issues & risks, CBAs, etc.)
    • Support other PMs through strategic consulting / COE function by leveraging a problem solving approach to identify root causes
    • Help others to think more critically about our objectives and provide solutions aligned with corporate strategy
    • Respectfully question methodologies and practices to help improve process and gain efficiencies

 

  • Improve coordination within the department around Portfolio Management and how we connect to Allstate Brand / Distribution strategy
    • Orchestrate for outcomes; ensuing the right stakeholders, decision makers and/or influencers are involved and informed
    • Inform prioritization in accordance with business priorities through re-occurring portfolio reviews
    • Create opportunities for sound decision-making across executives and sr. leaders
    • Effective communications (streamlined, refined by audience)

 

  • Maintain effectiveness through strong intrapersonal skills and Data-Driven Insights
    • Build and leverage new relationships, influence peers and leaders, teach and lead others
    • Help foster a fact-base decision making environment
    • Focus “always on” transparency with sharper emphasis on results and accountability
    • Leverage analysis to uncover the risks, unintended outcomes and downstream impacts of decisions or solutions 

This position is located our office in Northbrook, IL.

Job Qualifications

  • 5 years of related business experience
  • 4 year degree
  • experience in project management
  • intermediate experience with Excel - pivot tables
  • excellent communication skills across all levels of an organizaiton
  • ability to build and leverage relationships
  • experience with reviewing data and telling a business story
