Job Description

The ADS Digital Product Management team is responsible for defining, developing and delivering a new family of F&I (Finance and Insurance) products and underlying services designed for and with consumer centric digital delivery/e-commerce capabilities.    

 

The digital products and services in this family are intended to broaden the distribution network beyond the traditional B2B automotive dealer F&I channels to include additional e-commerce partners while also modernizing the customer experience within the dealership experience.

 

 

Job Summary

 

The Director of Digital Product Management will lead innovation around design and development of new product and service offerings and capabilites.  This leader will be responsible for business development, setting and delivering against growth goals for the portfolio and leading a team of product managers,for the digital product area.  The Director of digital product management creates and manages the strategic product vision, product discovery and roadmaps to maximize the customer and enterprise value provided by the product family. The role also collaborates with product marketing, IT and other areas of responsibility (AORs) to plan and execute an integrated marketing plan to support market awareness and adoption for their product, as applicable. The director is also responsible for managing, coaching and team development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute product strategy for the ADS digital product portfolio. Develop and inform product strategy via the effective combination of customer engagement, detailed market analysis and business case development.
  • Ensure that the digital product plans also enhance the existing product offering through digital enablement.
  • Develop proposed solutions, alternatives and guidance in diverse, complex and potentially disruptive business situations through cooperation with other areas of responsibility (AORs) both within and outside of ADS.
  • Communicate the product family vision and ensure that team members and the organization has clear understanding of the purpose and objectives.
  • Develop and present business cases and influence others to take recommended actions.
  • Develop and measure team success as defined by product KPIs (e.g. revenue, adoption, CSAT and/or retention targets) assigned to you and your team.
  • Engage in discovery/test & learn activities to quickly validate concepts as appropriate for investments.
  • Invest time with current and potential customers to understand their needs & habits and to elicit their feedback to potential product concepts and/or released product iterations.
  • Lead collaboration with Technology Partners to evaluate build, buy and/or partner decisions to advance product strategy and maximize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify barriers and lead the removal of barriers or plan adjustments.
  • As the expert for the digital product portfolio, partner with key stakeholders, internaland external client groups to influence and contribute on decisions and initiatives.
  • Influence others and gain consensus using data and validated learnings.
  • Leads development and recommendation of new techniques and processes to support innovative solutions.
  • Weighs alternatives and considers service and business implications of decisions.
  • Create and foster an environment rich in diversity of thought, culture and background.

     

  • Monitors budgets and operational effectiveness; develops strategies for adjusted courses of action.
  • Coach, develop and mentor members of the team.
  • Actively develop bench strength for the organization.

Job Qualifications

 

  • 12+ years relevant product management or product development experience working in business and industry transformation situations with strong technology / e-commerce knowledge and proven innovation leadership. 
  • Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, with experience starting new digital businesses or products and services
  • Demonstrated success in directing and executing new digital product development activities (including managing/partnering for what it takes beyond software development: marketing, operations, business development, sales)
  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to stakeholders to drive decision making and buy-in
  • Clear passion for topics of automotive products and services, digital delivery and product transformation and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate in the target product space
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across functions, measure, evaluate and act on results (financial and operational)
  • Demonstrated skills in the area of research and development – ability to work with data to develop insights interpret and make recommendations.
  • Experience with contracts, pricing and business development
  • Has an understanding of and experience in regulatory compliance
  • Ability to concentrate on a wide range of loosely defined complex situations, which require application of creativity and originality, where guidance and counsel may be unavailable
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity
  • Strategic thinker, who continuously creates and executes process improvements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills combined with the ability to influence others to accomplish objectives
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to facilitate, prepare and present formal presentations to senior management
  • Experience allocating resources (organizing and scheduling)
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, marketing or related business degree, MBA/MIS/MS desired
