Job Description

The Direct Billing team provides support and services for individual customers regarding billing inquiries, reconciliation and application of all retail premium deposits at the individual payor level.

This position reconciles and applies retail premium deposits.  Researches and replies to more complex customer requests for billing information.  Plans and initiates special projects and provides administrative support to the Team Leader and Supervisor.


Key responsibilities:.

  • Resolve complex payment and billing issues
  • Research and reply to customer requests related to billing questions, processing refunds and reallocating premiums as necessary
  • Manage suspense accounts using established departmental procedures, accurate processing of policy transactions such as cancellations, billing mode changes, and address changes
  • Build and maintain relationships with high profile agents
  • Continuously build skills and knowledge by receiving coaching and feedback and participate in ongoing training
  • Assist Supervisor in oversight of junior employees
  • Ensure deadlines are met and providing training as needed
  • Assist with operational efficiency projects
  • Assist the Team Leader with special projects

Job Qualifications

  • 3 Years customer service experience
  • Insurance industry background a plus
  • Advanced level of understanding of Benefit Administration’s business area processes
  • Previous Allstate Benefits experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel
  • Life70 mainframe processing experience a plus
  • Utilize multiple systems to obtain data for research
  • High School Diploma; some college preferred
  • Ability to multitask with advanced organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
