  • Support one or more of the following activities (concerning new or existing hardware and software technology components or enhancements to existing components): research, analysis, selection, planning, and engineering.


  • Manage efforts to test, debug, support, and analyze performance, and document hardware and software technology components.


  • Support efforts to implement new and emerging hardware and software technology, perform highly complex product customization for multiple configurations, and develop implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful new and emerging enterprise-wide systems hardware/software.


  • Resolve highly complex or critical incidents, logging and communicating issues and resolutions. 


  • Review and approve major and significant changes for purposes of incident avoidance.


  • Provide input and technical guidance in project management, planning, task definition, estimating, reporting, scheduling, and workflow.


  • Experience and a complete understanding of large scale environments in the build and support therein. Including design, capacity planning, cluster set up, performance tuning and monitoring


  • Demonstrate technical leadership and provide consultation outside of immediate team.


Job Qualifications

      MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science or equivalent experience
  • Exposure to Infrastructure & Network Design concepts; Physical system consolidation through server and storage virtualisation;
  • Understanding of latest hardware technologies and open source software. Understanding of storage technologies (NAS, SAN, DAS), Clustering, load balancing, OLAP/OLTP, Tivoli products.
  • Solid understand of database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, in-memory databases etc.
  • Experience in data Integrity/Recovery/High Availability; Service & data migration; Disaster Recovery Planning;
  • Expertise in typical system administration functions and programming skills such as space management, performance tuning.
  • Experience in IT systems design, systems analysis, development and management.
  • Experience in installing & supporting applications on Linux operating system
  • Exposure to Kerberos and integration with LDAP/AD at an Enterprise level.
  • Understands high availability concepts
  • Backup / Restore/ Disaster Recovery experience
  • Unix/Linux skills (including scripting) and C++


Preferred Additional Experience

•     Understanding of OLTP vs OLAP data administration needs

•     Understanding and ability to participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements gathering, business analysis, configuration management and quality control
