Job Description

The Regulatory Compliance team is responsible for ensuring all ADS products and procedures are in compliance with state laws and regulations. Duties include licensing, legislative review, policy issuance, insurance department filings, and lender filings.  The department also assists in the development and approval of product related consumer contracts. 

The Compliance Consultant is responsible for submitting product filings to state insurance departments and lenders for approval.  This position is also responsible for reviewing, tracking, monitoring and interpreting the impact of legislation/regulations that relate to ADS products and processes and providing summaries to impacted departments and management.  The role will provide technical guidance, recommendations, and implementation of process improvements related to product filing submissions.  The role provides excellent customer service to all distribution channels and external customers within the requested timeframe.   

  • Review, track and monitor legislation that impacts ADS product offerings utilizing various sources of information including Industry Association communications and conference calls, Department of Insurance websites, Department of Banking websites, State Legislative websites, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute legislative summaries to management, impacted departments, agents, and clients as new legislation is implemented or existing legislation changes.
  • Review product contracts, waivers, and policies in all channels to ensure compliance with state requirements and coverage provided in the contract, waiver or policy.
  • Analyze and determine the impact of changes in regulations on ADS product offerings, develop recommended actions, and present recommendations to department leadership.
  • Develop project plans for and lead filling related projects that will result in changes resulting from product legislation changes are implemented by the effective date.
  • Gather all relevant information required to submit filings and work with various business units to develop state specific filing exhibits.
  • Complete product form and rate filings to state insurance departments and form fillings to lenders.
  • Attend industry association conference calls and provide summaries of the calls to management and impacted departments.
  • Review and update regulatory compliance related databases, SharePoint sites, matrices, summaries, etc.  to ensure departments are utilizing current information.
  • Conduct legislative review meetings on a regular basis, during the state legislative sessions, to keep all departments informed of pending legislation.
  • Review and approve TPA consumer contracts, providing additional information regarding recommended revisions as needed.
  • Respond to complex inquiries requiring interpretation of policies, procedures, rule and regulations from business units and external sources, such as, Department of Insurance regulators, Department of Banking regulators and lenders.
  • Recommend process improvements to management to ensure compliance processes are optional.
  • Store and retrieve documents from OnBase, if applicable.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by department management.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or four (4) years or more of relevant experience.
  • Strong regulatory/compliance or other research training and skills.
  • Knowledge of all dealership finance & insurance products preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel, required. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Project preferred.
