Job Summary

The Band D Manager leads team members, manages time and cost estimates, assigns people to work, collects feedback, reviews and evaluates work and prepares performance evaluations.  Band D Managers lead work of critical importance, implement strategic change, and impact results and operational effectiveness.  Additionally they confer with and advise direct reports on administrative policies and procedures, risks, issues, problem resolution, sourcing decisions, budget and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

IT Automated Testing – IT Support Functional Management
Quality Assurance Automation supports quality principles and processes in place for IT products, applications, and systems. Quality Assurance Automation builds and configures the automation test beds and frameworks.  Additionally, test plans, scripts and preparation of test data is developed.
• Overseas collaboration with different areas to build out an end to end testing environment
• Overseas the review business requirements for completeness, consistency, clarity, relevance
• Leads in analysis and design sessions to create and maintain test scenarios
• Works with team in review of load patterns, baseline and ramp-up as input to test scenarios
• Leads team development of end to end automated use case execution estimates and test plans
• Collaborates with external partners/vendors and cross-functional areas to create a consolidated end to end automated test strategy and performance environment
• Insures data analysis of executed test plans across the end to end solution to ensure data integrity
• Works with leadership on determination of resources that will be required for software testing
• Overseas the execution, monitoring and troubleshooting of automated test use cases within the test framework
• Validate testing is progressing with software development in all phases
• Overseas development of variable data input files to be used during performance tests
• Work with project management regularly about the progress of testing activities
• Work with leadership regarding test use case results including possible improvements
• Report defects within defined severity and priority framework

Long Description

General Management & Decision Making
• Executes team strategy so as to develop and deliver innovative solutions and systems in support of Enterprise goals.  Communicates strategy to the team so they understand their role in achieving the established goals.
• Manages day to day work of employees by monitoring budgets, expenses and scope and facilitating project delivery and support for projects of critical importance
• Makes decisions that are largely operational in nature, implementing policies and processes within the team.  Makes decisions that may have an impact on quality or effectiveness of business activities at the team level.
• Generates and implements continuous improvement ideas
• Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and contributes to Allstate business and functional strategy

Business Partner Management
• Influences direct reports, clients and service providers to successfully deliver on business commitments.
• Sets and manages internal business partner expectations.
• Participates in communications that involve obtaining cooperation on issues that may be complex or controversial.

Job Qualifications

Experience

• 2-3 years management experience in IT automated testing in a collaborative team environment
• 3-5 years use and techniques of testing tools, expertise in applying test strategies and planning, ability to differentiate valid from invalid use case results
• Understanding of application architecture, execution environments, performance methodology and tuning
• Knowledge and experience with SDLC methodologies
• Strong communication skills

Education – Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
