Job Description

The Communications & Change Management team supports the implementation of the Sourcing and Procurement Solutions team’s organizational strategy and the associated people programs and processes.  This group uses communication vehicles, stakeholder engagement and training solutions to help support organizational change, achieve business objectives, drive value, and increase awareness across the enterprise and external stakeholders

The Communications and Change Management Senior Consultant role will work closely with the Communications and Change Management Director to establish and implement an overall change management plan to support the Sourcing and Procurement Solutions department's multi-year transformational journey. This role is responsible for supporting the development and execution of an overall brand and communications strategy for SPS, and for formulating communications policies and procedures. Key responsibilities also include change management support for ongoing SPS changes to ensure the successful rollout and adoption of department initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Change Management

  • Perform detailed change assessments to determine change readiness of stakeholder groups and identify key impacts; develop and conduct stakeholder surveys, interviews and focus groups
  • Support the development of a comprehensive change management plan to enable large SPS projects and transformation activities, including project and transformation roadmaps, and identification of communication needs per constituency group 
  • Support the implementation of the change management plan; develop and manage the work plans, secure needed resources, drive day-to-day activities, track status and prepare status reports
  • Proactively identify project issues / risks and develop and implement mitigation plans to address them

Communications

  • Work with the Director to develop comprehensive communications plans detailing the strategy for stakeholder groups
  • Create, implement and measure comprehensive communication plans that consider all stakeholders, and are integrated/aligned with corporate priorities and messaging
  • Create, design, and write complex publication materials, employee communications, newsletters, and informational materials for internal or external audiences
  • Develop key messages and a variety of communications to help drive engagement, line of sight and culture change among internal/external stakeholders
  • Implement event/project management for SPS, ABO, or related groups as needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with SPS clients, ABO Corporate Relations, coms leads and  key internal stakeholders
  • Support integration efforts between SPS OCM team, along with CR ABO Business Partner team, APL Distribution CR team, and ABO Workforce Effectiveness teams
    • Adopt, support and execute methodology for sharing information and delivering strategic communications across the organization
    • Proactively identify emerging and existing issues that may have an impact on overall business performance and reputation of Allstate
  • Website content may include SPS policies and procedures, traininig materials, communications, and end user support information for procurement systems (e.g., supplier management, category management, Source-to-Pay, etc. )
  • Work the Director to execute the SPS Branding strategy, including go-to-market capabilities, service offerings, visual identity (including templates), key messages and value drivers for different stakeholder groups

Training

  • Develop and deliver the communications materials to support the adoption of transformational changes, in collaboration with SPS Training

Job Qualifications

Experience and Educational requirements include:

  • Bachelor degree journalism, communications, public relations, business, supply chain, or related field
  • MBA, CPM,CPCU, and/or other advanced degree a plus
  • 3-5 years business experience, including experience in large scale Change Management, Communications, or equivalent
  • Experience in sourcing and procurement a plus
  • The individual must have superior written and oral communication skills in addition to the following capabilities and skills: 
  • Experience with building internal communication strategies that build employee/agency engagement.
  • Exceptional writing skills across a range of disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable in taking initiative and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Creative skills and ability to analyze and integrate client needs into an effective deliverable
  • Strong knowledge of change management principles, methods, tools and templates
  • Significant experience implementing communications and change management plans
  • Strong facilitation skills in conducting strategy sessions, stakeholder engagement sessions, etc.
  • Advanced project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Stakeholder management, including experience interviewing stakeholders and conducting focus groups
  • Ability to influence actions/decisions of customers and suppliers (at all levels) 
  • Ability to develop junior level employees
  • Intermediate knowledge of procurement techniques and principles
    • Sourcing process, negotiations, contracting, supplier management, supplier diversity, industry/trend analysis, metrics/measurement, etc.
    • Procurement tools (i.e., financial reporting tools, contract management tool, reverse auctions, etc.)
  • Ability to provide ownership and input into departmental direction
