Job Description

The Data, Discovery and Decision Science (D3) department leverages data & analytics to help the enterprise understand the best course of action to deliver on our corporate priorities, improve our business processes to gain operational efficiency and better equip our agencies and employees with the tools and insights necessary to better serve our customers, and live into our customer value proposition.  Data and Analytics are increasingly important across industries – be a part of Allstate’s ongoing transformation into a data-driven, customer-centric organization.


The D3 Data & Analytics Agile Program Manager is responsible for managing and contributing to a wide range of portfolios in a research environment that primarily uses Agile methodologies, but also relies on traditional methodologies at the program level and within customer and partner teams. This role sits within the Analytic Engineering team and is strongly aligned to the PMO.  The program is highly technical and focuses on large portfolios dedicated to foundational analytical tools and platforms being delivered within D3 to facilitate analytics in service of the enterprise. 


In this role you will:


  • Perform Scrum Master responsibilities for a portfolio of epics and sprints.
  • Act as an Agile Coach to understand and pin-point root cause of obstructions between Agile and traditional teams, develop a practical plan to help remove the road blocks, and transition the traditional team to Agile as needed
  • Provide status reports, financial reports, identify and mitigate risks, build and maintain customer relationships, and other Program Management responsibilities for all the products within the Analytic Engineering group.
  • Help develop an Agile standardization/transformation plan, standards, tools, and training based on Analytic Engineer’s needs and in alignment to the PMO across all AE teams and our customers / partners.
  • Support D3 and the PMO on their Agile standardization/transformation strategy across D3.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; project management certification preferred.
  • 7+ years strong Project & Program Management required; prior insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodology, as a Scrum Master and as an Agile Coach required.  Scrum Master Certification preferred.
  • Ability to flex between traditional Waterfall and Agile.
  • Ability to work in non-traditional project management environment.
  • Leader of change, exhibits key leadership traits and can lead others through change.
  • Ability to work well in unstructured, matrix based teams.
  • Advanced time and project management skills.
  • Advanced collaboration skills.
  • Travel to Northbrook required on an as needed basis.
