Allstate Investments manages close to $80 Billion of assets across portfolios for three major clients for Allstate to meet their investment objectives. Job Scope
Performance Measurement incorporates techniques from many disciplines, including data acquisition, computer programming, data engineering, software development, high performance computing, and traditional business expertise, with the goal of extracting meaning from data to optimize future business decisions. Individuals in this field should wish to be experts in several of these disciplines and sufficiently proficient in others to effectively design, build, and deliver end-to-end products to optimize future decisions. The IT Performance role is responsible for working with clients to support integrated workflows from data consolidation, return calculation, to analysis and reporting.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with business professionals within Performance to develop and continuously improve our reporting infrastructure for monitoring, evaluating, and communicating returns across the investment portfolio.
• Support and monitor the inbound, outbound and event packages in the Performance Measurement application.
• Maintain existing platforms and create new business solutions from inception to fully developed products.
• Understand and convert business requirements into tactical functional solutions.
• Evaluate data issues through sound analysis and make recommendations for resolution.
 
 

Job Qualifications

Skills Required:
• Use a wide variety of tools and languages to achieve results (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL, and Tableau a plus).
• Works well with others, strong written and verbal communication, comfortable with varying (and reactive) daily responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently, inquisitive nature, and ownership mentality.
• Break down business problems into solvable components to recommend solutions.

Experience:
• 0 - 3 years in technology related fields.

Education/Training Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or equivalent.
• MBA or CFA candidate a plus.
• Experience or knowledge with ETL techniques and tools, Data Warehousing and Data Modeling. Informatica or SSIS is a plus.
• Experience with Eagle Investment Systems a plus. Training is available.
• Demonstrated analytic agility and problem solving skills.
• Ability and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
