Job Description

The Portfolio Consultant helps to maintain and monitor the product portfolio and inventory of projects. This individual should have an eye for innovation; they play a critical role in identifying and driving reporting improvements to help advance portfolio support for the department. They will also be responsible for ad-hoc investigations and incident resolution which requires strong collaboration and communication skills. Given the multi-faceted responsibilities of this role, this individual must have the ability to self-prioritize work and the many demands on their time.
 
Key Responsibilities


• Reporting:

  • Assist with the creation and distribution of product portfolios and other essential reports
  • Support the data integrity of reports by holding others accountable for reporting standards
  • Identify, research and implement process and reporting enhancements

 

• Portfolio oversight:

  • Help manage the portfolio/inventory of projects to ensure projects are implemented on time, at or under budget and with quality
  • Monitor and support the management of schedule, cost, quality, health/issues, prioritization, etc. for initiatives across Product Operations
  • Help manage and/or facilitate state/regional team meetings to review portfolio, provide line-of-sight and discuss pertinent business topics

 

• Problem solving: Manage ad-hoc investigations and issue resolution


• Prioritization: Assist with project coordination

 

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of experience; prior insurance experience preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
• Proven track record for identifying, researching and implementing improvements
• Creative problem solving with strong business judgment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong emphasis on follow-through
• Advanced time and project management skills
• Advanced process management skills
• Proven ability to collaborate and influence
• Good communication skills (written/verbal)
• Familiar with project management principles
