Job Description

The Supplier Management team establishes, implements, and maintains the supplier management framework instituted by Sourcing and Procurement Services (SPS) for the enterprise. 

The Supplier Management Lead Consultant is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and governance of the supplier management framework.  The framework includes all aspects of risk assessment, performance management, and relationship management.  The role partners with commodity managers and supplier risk consultants within SPS and BU representatives to ensure the appropriate management of Allstate’s supplier base.

Key Responsibilities
 Lead the continued development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise supplier relationship management framework
o Clearly identify, support, and maintain supplier segmentation criteria, risk assessment processes, roles and responsibilities, relationship management and escalation policies and practices
o Support the development of the long-term vision for the supplier management framework
o Identify and develop technology and tools to assist and support the long-term sustainability of the enterprise supplier management framework
o Partner with supplier risk consultants to integrate supplier risk and supplier relationship
o On-board suppliers and BU Supplier Relationship Managers (SRMs) into the supplier management program
o Provide ongoing support to SRMs to ensure supplier management program framework sustainability
 Adherence to meeting cadence
 Supplier scorecard
 Risk mitigation
 Performance improvement
 Partner with supplier risk consultants on development and maintenance of governance framework to monitor adherence to supplier management process
 Development and maintenance of supplier level dashboards to deliver cross enterprise measurements of supplier score
o Risk identification/assessment and mitigation
o Financial health
o Performance metrics against KPIs/SLAs
 Work with BU and SPS category leads in supporting negotiations with suppliers to increase supplier performance, mitigate risk, optimize suppliers and drive savings
 Facilitate operational relationships between Allstate and Supplier operational teams
 Manage escalations for contractual and operational issues with Suppliers
 Proactively identify potential performance/risk areas and work with BU and SPS category to mitigate the risk
 Through the proactive management of suppliers, identify additional savings opportunities or performance enhancements
 Proactively ensure Supplier sustainability (BCP, security assessments, etc.) requirements are achieved, working closely with the BU and supplier risk team
 Proactively identify and address issues that could affect the customer service, competitive positioning, and/or ability to partner on agency sales or policy holder related service delivery
 Coordinate with Data & Analytics team for overall reporting, root cause analysis on service performance issues and invoicing

Job Qualifications

Education:    
 Bachelor’s degree preferred
 
Work Experience:         
 5+ years experience in a service delivery capacity
 3+ years Supplier Management experience, Supplier Risk experience, or Procurement experience
 Experience working with complex or challenging suppliers
 Operations experience preferred
 Experience working with virtual teams preferred
 
Work Requirements:                 
 10% Travel possible

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
 Excellent interpersonal skills
 Strong analytical and data management skills, ideally proven in a Sourcing and Procurement Services or Operations context
 Ability to effectively interact and influence Senior Executives, client executives, and/or Supplier executives.

 Strong financial analysis skills
 Project and program management skills
 Driven and motivated to lead and push for increasing levels of performance
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
 Strong customer orientation
 Understanding of third party deal structuring, 2nd tier relationships, and possible financial arrangements preferred
 Ability to prioritize amongst multiple high priority items
 Knowledge of  Service Delivery Model preferred
 Knowledge of Sourcing/Procurement processes preferred
 Knowledge of Allstate  offerings preferred
 Understanding of Allstate (or related industry) outsourcing environment preferred
