The Team

Arity Consumer Solutions brings people holistic mobility solutions so they can travel safer, more efficiently, and be more insightful about the world around them. We build products that  drive towards “respectful delivery” of insights to people as opposed to “instant interruption”.

 

The Role

Arity Consumer Solutions team is seeking an experienced Product Management who will be responsible for defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of one or more products in Arity’s Consumer Solutions portfolio. As Product Manager, you will manage product strategy, product roadmap, discovery and the product backlog.  You will be expected to collaborates with marketing and other areas of responsibility (AoR) to plan and execute an integrated marketing plan to support market awareness and adoption for the product, as applicable. You will also be responsible for managing the development of the product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, drive and execute product strategy for one or more products in our growing digital product portfolio. Develop and inform product strategy via the effective combination of customer engagement, detailed market analysis and business case development
  • Be recognized as the “voice of the customer”; invest significant time with current and potential customers to understand their needs & habits and to elicit their feedback to potential product concepts and/or to released product iterations.
  • Engage in discovery/test & learn activities to quickly validate concepts as appropriate for backlog investments
  • Drive the development of software alongside your Agile team(s) by serving as Product Owner – grooming the product backlog, creating illustrative and effective user stories and providing timely stakeholder feedback on development iterations.
  • Influence others and gain consensus using validated learnings.
  • Partner with stakeholders inside and outside of the enterprise, and present to field teams and at events as the “product expert” for your defined product area.
  • Collaborate with Technology Partners to evaluate build, buy and/or partner decisions to advance product strategy and maximize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 
  • Coach and mentor members of the team as well as members of the cross-functional development organization

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience

  • Ability to manage and direct team members where you do not have direct management responsibility.
  • 5-10 years relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience at a startup
  • Experience operating in an environment driven by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) where you had the accountability to determine the best course of action to achieve goals and objectives
  • Experience in product management or product development for consumer products preferable
  • Demonstrated success in directing and executing new product or digital product development activities in multiple areas
  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to the new product development team with proven experience driving decision making
  • Clear passion for topics of lean startup principles, software product development and delivery, mobility, Connected Car and/or Internet of Things products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate in our product space
  • Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
  • Understanding of and experience working in an Agile environment
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, marketing or related business degree, MBA/MIS/MS desired
