Investment Finance Statutory Reporting Consultant- position involves reporting and analysis of invested asset and related activities.

The Position

In alignment with corporate goals, specific responsibilities for External Statutory Reporting Team Lead will include:

  • Various statutory month end and quarter-end close responsibilities including posting and/or approving journal entries and account analysis.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze various reports for internal and external customers. This includes among other things, schedule D, tax schedules, asset valuation reserve, interest maintenance reserve and other schedules and footnotes supporting the statutory financial statements and combined audited reports.  Assist GAAP Reporting as needed.
  • Assist with periodic research of new accounting pronouncements and impact analysis of new products or strategies may have in our financial reports.  Participate in Investment Research certification process of accounting/reporting policies.
  • Assist with leading or coordinating team projects, assignments and team responsibilities.
  • Identify process improvements and issues and work with various functional teams to implement and resolve, respectively.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting or relevant experience
  • 2+ years of Accounting/Reporting experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Access and SAP skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Recommends solutions in a logical and creative manner
